Supported by Youth Music, Contact are offering free FACILITATOR TRAINING
WHO THIS COURSE IS FOR
People aged 20-25 from the Global Majority who would like to learn how to deliver music workshops and are already working in music – this could be as a musician, producer, teacher, any music-focussed practise.
COURSE OVERVIEW
This training will cover how to design and deliver your own workshop, with shadowing sessions and safeguarding training. The course covers freelance skills and setting yourself up for self-employment with guidance on things like:
· Finding work
· Managing your finances
· Completing tax returns
· Writing invoices
The course will be 16 hours total across 9 weeks, including evenings, daytimes, online and in-person at Contact. The timetable for sessions will be planned around any current work commitments that you may have.
Participants will receive:
· a £150 stipend
· An enhanced DBS (subject to conditions)
How to apply
We want to know:
- Your age and where you’re based
- What kind of music you make, perform, teach, write or produce
- Why you’d like to train as a facilitator
- What you hope to gain from taking the training
You can either provide this information in written or video form, whichever you prefer
There are only 10 places available on this round of training so please keep this in mind when applying.
